Mo Manning's "Boughs for Wreaths" Christmas Cards

These were three special Christmas cards I made for my Dad and two brothers. I didn't send them to anyone else. They sort of got a "limited edition". This was my first year coloring images for Christmas cards...lots of fun.

I used a Mo Manning digital stamp "Boughs for Wreath".

Mo is now offering a line of rubber stamps through Stampavie, so I'll be on the look-out for those coming out soon. I love digital images, except that you can't share them with friends to practice coloring.

I love the realistic nature of this stamp...less cartoony than many. The image resembles my husband with our wee ones. He loves to be outside with them! I really enjoyed working with this image because it felt so personal. Mo is quite the artist! She is actually an illustrator for children's books! I LOVE that!

I used copics mainly, and a pearlescent eye shadow for the background that shimmered in the light. (I had to tell my brothers and dad that the images were colored! They didn't realize it when they got them. LOL).

Check out a superb interpretation of the stamp here by talented card makers Linda Heavens. I have to case her work. LOVE the ground and blues she used, and the little chunks of grass. PERFECT.

My tree paper was from Martha Stewart, others were from random Christmas paper packages I've picked up over the years.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi, Joan,
These cards are fabulous! I LOVE Mo; she's such a great artist!!!
I'm responding to your questions on my Memorial Day card on SCS (plus I wanted to visit your blog!) regarding the doily! It's Martha Stewart's "tag" (die-cut lace tags on back of pkg.) that come 12 in a package for I believe $2.99/$3.99 (can't recall?) at Michaels. You'll have to kind of search for them in the MS aisle! Ask me how I know (of course I didn't go to 3 Michaels before I found them! ;-) Check out my baby card using them @: http://maricopastamper.blogspot.com/2010/07/justrite-friday-challenge-025-inside.html
    Hope you find them!!!
